Still have questions? You're not alone.
Here are the most common things future pilots ask us before taking their first flight.
Categories
Training Program & Certification
How long is the course?
The core training is a 10-day immersive program focused on building muscle memory, safety habits, and confident piloting skills.
Do I get certified automatically after 10 days?
No. Certification is earned, not guaranteed. You must demonstrate safe launch, flight, and landing proficiency — not just attend.
What if I don’t pass in 10 days?
We offer continuation training at an additional cost. Everyone learns at their own pace, and we support students until they’re truly ready.
When do most people fly for the first time?
Most students fly their first solo between Day 3 and Day 5, depending on wind, control, and instructor clearance.
Is there a day-by-day breakdown of the course?
Yes. The program covers ground handling, kiting, motor practice, flight drills, and safety scenarios — all mapped by day.
What are the physical requirements?
You should be able to run 20 steps with 60 lbs on your back and jog up to 2 miles in short intervals. Basic fitness is required.
Do I need previous flight experience?
Not at all. Most of our students start with zero background in aviation or wing handling.
Safety & Legal Regulations
Do I need a pilot license to fly a paramotor?
No FAA license is required. Paramotoring is governed by FAR 103 rules, and we offer USPPA-standard training.
Do I have to register flight plans or talk to towers?
No. Most paramotor flights are in uncontrolled airspace. However, we train you in airspace awareness and radio protocol for future safety.
What’s the legal altitude limit?
You can fly up to 14,000 ft (or 18,000 ft with oxygen) in the U.S., though most flights stay under 1,000 ft AGL for better visuals and safety.
Do you teach weather and airspace rules?
Absolutely. You’ll learn to use weather apps, airspace maps, and visual flight rules to make smart, safe decisions.
Is paramotoring safe?
With proper training, yes. We teach judgment-first flying, ground mastery before motor, and emergency drills — to keep you prepared and confident.
Tandem Flights & Sky Therapy
Can I try a flight before enrolling?
Yes! We offer tandem discovery flights as a way to feel the air before committing to training.
What do the tandem flights cost?
- $200 for ~20 minutes
- $350 for ~45 minutes
We credit this toward the full course if you enroll within 1 week.
Do I need to be fit for a tandem flight?
Yes — you’ll need to run 20 steps on takeoff. It’s light jogging, but basic mobility is required.
What is Sky Therapy?
Sky Therapy is our free tandem flight program for people living with disabilities, in partnership with Project Airtime. It’s joy, movement, and freedom — for everyone.
Who qualifies for Sky Therapy?
Paraplegics, quadriplegics, individuals with cognitive or physical limitations — anyone who needs a moment of lift.
How do I nominate someone?
We’ll have a nomination form online soon. You can submit someone’s story and we’ll handle the rest — at no cost to them.
Gear, Travel & Adventure Trips
Do I get gear during training?
Yes — we provide all necessary gear during the 10-day course, including wings, motors, helmets, and harnesses.
Can I buy gear through you?
Yes. We sell new and used gear, fitted to your size, style, and skill level — and we service everything we sell.
Should I buy used gear online?
No. We strongly discourage buying from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist unless you’re experienced. Fit and safety matter — and we can’t service unverified equipment.
Do you service paramotor gear?
Yes. We offer ongoing maintenance, tuning, inspections, and part replacements — for all gear bought through us.
Can I fly internationally with my certification?
In some regions (e.g. South America), yes. In others (like Europe), you may need additional qualifications. We can guide you based on your destination.
Do you offer paramotor trips or retreats?
Yes! We host Adventure Training Trips in places like Egypt, Turkey, and more — designed for post-grads and confident pilots.
Can I bring a spouse or non-flyer companion?
Absolutely. Our trips are travel-friendly and community-based. Spouses and partners are welcome to join the journey.
Maintenance & Membership Program
Do you offer gear servicing?
es. We service motors, wings, reserves, and harnesses — especially for our students and gear buyers.
What’s included in maintenance?
- Motor service (hour-based intervals)
- Glider inspections
- Reserve repacks (every 180 days)
- Custom recommendations based on usage
Is there a service membership?
Not yet — but we’re working on a monthly membership with reminders, service priority, and special pricing.
How will I know when service is due?
Currently by email reminders. In the future, we’ll offer automated tracking and annual maintenance plans.
